Sunday — Barn Party under the stars

There may be no better icebreaker than an Ensenada barn party. Decorations, pastries, ice cream, music, tables and chairs — our teens went to great lengths to create an inviting atmosphere to bridge the language gap and get this show started with a bang.

It was a great moment — this party on the hill overlooking The City of Children — filling the Ensenada night with light and laughter, music and fun.

Our hope is that the Father (any maybe even a few curious neighbors) looked down and saw that it was good. It was a perfect way to say hello and goodnight.

Our first full day here left us with full hearts. Can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for tomorrow. God is good.

Sunday Night Skit — Circo de Ole vs. Circo Sinestro

One part The Greatest Showman, one part It’s a Wonderful Life, one part Marx Brothers, a heaping dose of puns, previous Mexico trip references and generous helping of Skid’s playful but purposeful imagination and you have The Greatest Show in Mexico, running for nights only. You won’t want to miss it. In fact, you can see it by following This Link to the Facebook Live Post of Night 1.

You will be AMAZED...or, at least, mildly amused. Enjoy.

Our giraffe was tall...
...but our big man was taller...
...and Tom Thumb wasn’t tall at all.
The big musical choreographed production number was a show stopper.... Of course, a lot of what we do might be considered a show stopper. But this was definitely a crowd pleaser, too.

Thanks to Eli and Mike for the great sound effects, show tunes and the Facebook Live prodcast of each performance. They’re making this The Greatest Show on Facebook.

Sunday Fun in the Son...

You’re teens have shown such restraint! Because of privacy issues they’ve been asked to not post images of the children here on social media and they’ve willingly complied without complaint. We ask that you would do the same and refrain from copying any pictures of the children here and posting them on social media.

That said, there’s plenty of hard work going on here in Ensenada but we still have time for fun and making friends, discovering that language isn’t a barrier and that love is truly a bridge. So much going on, people busy all over The City, making, backing, crafting, playing, inspiring, giving testimony, laughing together, wiping away a tear, thanking God, seeing Jesus. So much to take in — it’s like...well...a three ring circus.

Our Seniors are flying high. We expect great things from this crew!
