We know the house we've built is pretty humble. Only two windows. Two rooms. A door. Still, there's something incredible about handing over the keys to a new house to a very deserving family. But it pales in comparison to the feeling we will know on that day the Lord opens the doors to our heavenly home. For now, we can see a small precursor to that joy in the faces of the famiy we've served.
It's appropriate that a service project like touring the house and touring the teen girl's renovated kitchen caps the end of our week. Making a place for people in this world is important. Important in the next world, too.
Our entire team signed a Bible and it was presented to the family receiving the house. Carol Lowe, as is her tradition provided a flower box for the front window. We gathered around the house and the family to pray for their health and well-being and Christ's presence in their lives and home. We hope you'll join in our prayer. Especially pray for Senor Marcareo. He's the gentlemen in the wheelchair. He lost his legs to diabetes and now he's having trouble with his hands. He asked us to pray for his hands. So let's continue to do that, that God would should his presence in a very powerful way.
[By the way -- Our dear brother Conrad Little made a very special appearance on this trip...see below for an explanation.]
