Tuesday food crew — Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest impact...so to speak.

On Tuesday, our food crew went to three homes in the Maneadaro area. The families we visit don't have much but they're always so gracious. Almost always they invite us in. We sing and pray and leave them a modest basket of food that will last the family many weeks. We're blessed to have Averi who speaks Spanish speak for us. These simple visits to the homes of Christians in the area and sharing with them for many of us are the hidden gems of the trip.

There's no fanfare or costumes, no script or story line. It's just two cultures coming together in a home and a brief worship service as we leave the gift of food. Through these visits we're able to see how the people live. We're able to experience their gracious response to our modest gift. And they seem as over-joyed for the prayers and songs as they are for the food. It is all such a very small gesture but so rich a time. Their smiles and circumstances will will linger in our memories and hearts far a long, long time and will nourish our soul longer than the food we left will nourish their bodies. Some how we get the better end of the exchanged. We are so blessed to be here. Thank you for supporting our mission.

No, that's not blood on Savannah's left foot. It's the result of a bottle of hot sauce falling from the ceiling rack, jostled loose as we traveled and exploding on her. She was a good sport and carried on...now truly a...seasoned veteran of our team.
